My name is Terry Todd and I’m the founder of the Room 453 Ministry.  I have always been blessed to live a very healthy life with no serious illness or injury.  In November of 2020, all this changed as I contracted the Delta version of the COVID virus.

I had never spent a single night in the hospital and then in late November, just before and then through the Thanksgiving holiday, I began to suffer from the effects of COVID.  My condition progressively worsened to the point where I was coughing up coagulated blood from my lungs and was admitted to the hospital.

During this period of COVID the hospitals were in lockdown with no visitors or even family allowed into the patient rooms. Without family members, the healthcare providers were truly champions and heroes providing as much love, compassion, care and treatment that they could and in my case I received great care from the hospital staff.

As the disease progressed, I stopped breathing at one point and my bodywas shutting down. It would take me two to three minutes to chew and swallow a small morsel of food as I didn’t have enough breath to eat normally. A trip to the restroom took at least 30 minutes due to oxygen deprivation and the extreme threat of clotting occurring was a significant concern.

Despite the virus’s oppressiveness it was during those times that I felt and knew that THE ONE who defines love was right there with me. As promised in His word Jesus was with me.

My church along with family and prayer warriors from all over were praying and fasting for me and with that, the Lord showed up in my room as I had never experienced before. I settled into a sense of peace and joy and was no longer concerned about my outcome. God gave me the strength to fight, the strength to walk and exercise to fight the clotting, and the inspiration to pray and praise despite the circumstances.

Because of the prayers on day 9 there was a remarkable God initiated turnaround in my body and the doctor told me that I could go home the next day.  The doctor shared that as of that time I was one of only two men of my age, with the same level of illness, that had left the hospital alive and under his own power. It was by God’s grace and his glory that I was able to leave the hospital on the 10th day.

Within a day of leaving the hospital, God showed me that I needed to pray for the next person who was admitted into my room, Room 453, with the same fervor as those who prayed for me.

When I retired in 2022 God called me to start a ministry and expand the concept of prayer coverage over ALL hospital patient rooms and operational areas utilizing Christians from the local area.  Room 453 Ministry began in the spring of 2022 and is praying over and for you every day.
